Third-party campaigners must keep a campaign account for an election campaign.
The campaign account must be a separate account with a bank, building society or a credit union.
There are no legislative requirements as to the name of the campaign account.
Payments for electoral communication expenditure incurred during the capped expenditure period must be paid by the official agent from the campaign account.
Political donations received for the purposes of incurring electoral communication expenditure must be paid by the official agent into the campaign account.
An official agent may appoint a person in writing to receive such political donations and make payments for such electoral communication expenditure from the campaign account.
Any amount of a political donation which exceeds the cap on political donations to a third-party campaigner must not be paid into the campaign account.
Payments other than those for electoral communication expenditure may be paid from the campaign account.
