Registers for State Elections
The Election Funding Authority publishes the following registers for state general elections and by-elections:
-
Register of Candidates
-
Register of Official Agents
-
Register of Party Agents
The Register of Candidates lists the details of those candidates who have registered with the Authority for an election. Only those candidates who are registered with the Authority for an election are permitted to accept political donations and are eligible to receive an election funding payment after the election (if all other necessary criteria is met).
The Register of Official Agents lists the details of those persons who have been appointed as an official agent by candidates or groups for an election. Only those candidates and groups who appoint and register an official agent with the Authority are permitted to receive $1,000 or more in political donations or incur $1,000 or more in electoral expenditure during an election period. In the case of state elections, candidates and groups who are endorsed by a registered political party are not required to appoint an official agent. Their agent is the party agent of the party.
The Register of Party Agents lists the details of those persons who have been appointed as the party agent of a political party.
